Kathy O'Hara

At only the delicate age of 19 Kathy O'Hara is becoming one of Australia's fastest up and coming riders on Australian race tracks. Born in Singleton, the heart of the Hunter Valley where some of the best vineyards in Australia stand and the best thoroughbreds are foaled, she was definitely born into the right area.

Growing up in Goulburn NSW, Kathy first started riding for a friend in the early hours of the morning, then gradually started strapping at meetings and just slowly worked herself into riding at meetings, from there she hasn't looked backed since.

Kathy O'Hara has definitely broken through the barrier of Women in Racing, as being stereotyped as being weaker and not as strong or tough as the males riding, but many should know that its all in the technique, and sure you have to be able to whip them home, but the increasing number of rides that she is being given is a sure indication that she is just as strong and talented as the rest of the field.

Guy Walter is certainly impressed by Kathy with 4 of her best rides are trained by him. Kathy has landed herself some pretty good rides, including Above Deck, Imana, Cellar Edtion, Johan's Toy, Bush Honey and Wild Iris

The experts agree; Kathy O'Hara is a natural talent who has become better by working harder to let her riding skills shine through. Punters in general are now excited to see that their selection is to be ridden by Kathy as they know she will be giving her mounts every chance to win
